PRESCOTT SPEED HILL CLIMB REOPENS FOR SPECTATOR ATTENDANCE

Following 11 months of events at the historic Prescott Speed Hill Climb running behind closed doors, spectators will be welcomed back to the estate from Saturday 19th June.

The Bugatti Owners’ Club, owners and operators of Prescott Hill Climb, have been working closely with Tewkesbury Borough Council to ensure spectators’ return to the estate in a Covid-Secure environment. Both parties are now confident that all legal requirements and procedures are in place to allow this to happen from Saturday 19th June 2021.

Initially, spectator attendance will be capped to 250 people, with plans in place to increase attendance levels over the next few months. However, all spectators will be required to pre-register their attendance and confirm both in advance and on entry to the venue that they have not been in contacts with anyone showing symptoms and are Covid-free.

One of the many benefits of BOC membership is free spectator entry to events organised by the club, obviously, this perk of membership has been paused over recent times. We would like to thank Members for their loyalty, patience and support throughout the pandemic and therefore the Directors of the Club have decided that spectator attendance will be restricted to Club Members only in the first instance. As attendance levels are allowed to increase, this policy will be reviewed.

We cannot wait to welcome Members back to the estate, but please be aware there have been many changes to allow this to take place.

Firstly, to gain access you will need to pre-register through the club website Bugatti Owners Club | Prescott Speed Hill Climb (prescotthillclimb.co.uk) and visit the EVENTS page; click on the event you want to attend and then book your free spectator ticket. You then need to bring this to the event with you to gain access, otherwise you will be turned away.

When you arrive at the event, your ticket will be scanned and your temperature will be checked. If you are showing a high temperature, then unfortunately you won’t be allowed into the venue.

One of the main differences you will notice once you are onsite is that you won’t be able to access the Paddock area. This is a requirement of Motorsport UK, following advice from the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport that the competitors and marshals must be kept separate from spectators. This is to protect the special exemptions granted to formally organised sport. We understand the joy of walking around the paddock and perusing the cars, and hope that this restriction will be lifted very soon, but this will only happen when Motorsport UK changes its guidance.

You will also be asked to wear a face mask around the site, particularly when walking on pathways and over the bridge. Likewise, when you are inside such as in toilets or Clubhouse you will need to wear a mask.

Hand wash and sanitising stations are located around the site and we would ask you to use these as you move around.

We do hope you enjoy returning to Prescott after the enforced 11 month wait! We cant wait to welcome you back!
