IT'S BRITISH & MIDLAND CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND!

This weekend we welcome the British and Midland Championship to our beautiful hill on the outskirts of the Cotswolds.

The First British Hillclimb Championship took place in 1947 and since then there have been 32 different champions. The British Hillclimb Championship is organised and run by the British Automobile Racing Club on behalf of Motorsport UK and takes place at 11 different venues throughout the United Kingdom and the Channel Islands, with rounds 17 & 18 at Prescott this weekend. There are 2 rounds at each event with the first event of the season taking place in April and the final event in September. At each event there are two ‘Top Twelve’ run-offs with championship points going to the top 10.

We will be live streaming the event during Saturday afternoon and all day on Sunday through the clubs Facebook and You Tube Channels, with expert commentators Chris Drewett & Peter Hughes joining us for the weekend.

Defending Champion Wallace Menzies leads the pack into charge with a total of 142 championship points to date, but Alex Summers is close on his heals with a total of 137. Third place is Sean Gould, with some strong results needed to recover his 42 point gap to Wallace.

In the Midland Hill Climb Championship Paul Howells is the current leader with a significant 21 point lead over nearest rival Josh Moss. Richard Weaver lies a close 1 point behind Josh, so this weekend could easily see the top three in the standings switch around.

As part of the reopening of Prescott post-lockdown restrictions easing we are re-opening our Club Regalia Shop, Friends of Prescott shop and welcome Prescott Ales to The Clubhouse Bar. We also have Belistore joining us to provide top quality locally sourced food and drinks for everyone to enjoy over the weekend.
