Record Crowd Witnesses Thrilling British Hillclimb Championship Finale at Prescott
Prescott Speed Hill Climb hosted an unforgettable weekend of motorsport as a record-breaking crowd gathered to watch the dramatic conclusion of the 2026 British Hillclimb Championship. Fans were treated to spectacular competition, incredible driving and a title battle that went right down to the final run-off of the season. The championship decider featured a three-way fight between Matthew Ryder, Wallace Menzies and Will Hall, delivering a fitting climax to one of the most closely contested seasons in recent memory.
A huge congratulations goes to Matthew Ryder, who successfully secured the 2026 Motorsport UK British Hillclimb Championship title after a tense winner-takes-all finale at Prescott. Ryder's consistency and determination throughout the season earned him a remarkable third consecutive championship crown.
The weekend also celebrated the achievements of all our class winners, whose performances throughout the event showcased the incredible diversity and talent that make hill climbing one of Britain's most exciting forms of motorsport. Every competitor contributed to a fantastic spectacle for spectators, demonstrating the skill, precision and commitment that define championship-level competition.
From the first practice runs to the final championship showdown, the atmosphere around the hill was electric. Packed spectator banks, busy paddocks and enthusiastic supporters created one of the most memorable championship weekends Prescott has seen.
