Prescott International & Midland Hill Climb Championship – Post Event Report

🏁 Prescott International – Saturday 19th July 2025


The inaugural Prescott International made its debut under a bright summer sky, bringing an exciting team-based hill climb format to Prescott’s course. Teams of up to four cars competed over three runs each, with average time on handicap deciding the victors.


The day was filled with special moments, none more memorable than the Spitfire flyover, which captivated the crowd and added a sense of heritage to the event.


The International Teams category delivered both spectacle and sportsmanship:


  • 1st – England A

o Terry Graves – Gould DJ55XD

o Aaron Colbourne – Van Diemen RF02FX

  • 2nd – Wales

o Martin Watts – Sylva Riot

o Philip James – Porsche Cayman 718 GT4

  • 3rd – France

o Rupert Marks – Bugatti Type 13 Brescia

o Julian Eckersley – Bugatti Type 13 Brescia


In the non-international category, known as “The Others”, fun and fierce competition was certainly had. Team Sprocket took the top spot, with Classic Attack, Missed Apex and A2 Breakfast Crew in 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.


The Pilbeam celebration added an extra layer of thrill, with the legendary cars and drivers showcasing their skill to the delight of spectators. By the end of the day, Prescott International had announced itself as a thrilling new chapter in British hill climbing. Combining historic character and modern competition, leaving motorsport fans eager for the next edition.

🏎️ Midland Hill Climb Championship – Sunday 20th July 2025


Sunday’s Midland Hill Climb Championship (Round 11 and 12) brought individual glory, with drivers battling for crucial points across a range of classes. From road-going sports cars to single-seater racing machines, every element was a test of nerve and precision.

  • BARC Speed Championship – Andrew Platt – Lotus Exige

  • MG Car Club Speed Championship – Simon Jones – Austin Healey Sprite

  • Class A(i) – David Wilson – Lotus Elise

  • Class A(ii) – Richard Snow – Porsche Cayman GT4 RS

  • Class A(iii) – Peter Richings – VW Golf R

  • Class B – Richard Price – Caterham 7

  • Class F – Samuel Nicholson – Mallock MK20

  • Class J(i) – Max Hawkes – Van Diemen RF84

  • Class J(ii) – Steven Potter – Empire Evo

  • Class K(i) – Terry Davis – Force TA

  • Class K(ii) – Alex Coles – Force TA Mistral

  • Class L – Graham Wynn – Gould GRW59

  • BOC Handicap Saloons – Steve Mundy – Ford Fiesta

  • BOC Handicap Sports – Tim Jeffrey – Alpine GTA LM


The day concluded with the final Midland Hill Climb Championship Run Off round, where the quickest drivers face off in a final run for top points. Both Run Off rounds were victorious for Alex Coles in his Force TA Mistral. Further placings and re-shaping the championship points table went to:


Run Off Round 11: 2nd Zachary Zammit, 3rd Graham Wynn

Run Off Round 12: 2nd Graham Wynn, 3rd Morgan Jenkins

Next up this weekend across two days 2nd - 3rd August is Vintage Prescott, the only event now held on the historic Short Course. Since its inception in 1938, with interruptions only during wartime and the COVID-19 pandemic, this event has become a cherished tradition for automotive enthusiasts. Spectator tickets are available via the button below. BOC Members go free.
