Gloucestershire’s oldest motorsport venue, Prescott Hill Climb will celebrate the middle of year with its mid-summer club meeting this weekend (10th/11th June).
The weekend will feature action on both two and four wheels including rounds of hosts, the Bugatti Owners Club’s own handicap championship, with classes for Saloons, Sports cars, and racing cars along with a separate class for pre-1947 cars. Meanwhile, contenders in the National Hillclimb Championship for motorcycles will also be in action.
The Midland Speed Championship features no fewer than 30 qualifying events through the course of the season with competitors counting their best eight results to determine their championship position at the end of the year. Competitors in the championship will be in action on both Saturday and Sunday.
The Paul Matty Hillclimb Championship focusses on the Lotus marque and both road and race cars from the Norfolk based manufacturer will be vying for championship points.
2023 is the 9th year for the Bristol MX5 Challenge, which is open to Mark 1, 2 and 3 versions of the Mazda MX5 as well as the Mazda Eunos with an emphasis on affordable fun. The championship includes Autosolos and Sprints as well as Hillclimbs, including this weekend’s event.
Both the Thorne Wines MAC Speed Championship and the Autocar Young Drivers Championship are organised by the Midland Automobile Club with the latter open to competitors aged between 16 and 23. While the young drivers will be in action on Saturday, the Thorne Wines contenders will visit Prescott on Sunday.
The National Hillclimb Championship for motorcycles includes a number of classes based on engine capacity for both solo machines and sidecars along with a Classic class for pre-1965 machines and a road legal class aimed at newcomers to the sport.
Action on the hill is schedules to take place between 08:30 and 17:00 each day with practice followed by timed runs and there will be a full range of refreshments and meals available at the Prescott Clubhouse and various outlets around the Hill.
Early Bird tickets are available now for £12 per person while accompanied under 16s and carers are admitted free of charge.
