Vintage Prescott - The Long Course round-up

The sun was shining at Prescott on Saturday afternoon as we welcomed the Vintage Sports Car Club to the hill for the Vintage Prescott - Long Course event.


It was a fantastic day at the Cheltenham venue as an array of vintage and pre-war cars took to the track.


The overall best time of the day was achieved by Nicholas Topliss with 49.41 seconds in his ERA R4D.


This was closely followed by Ian Baxter with a time of 49.94 seconds driving his ALTA 61 I.S Single Seater.

The were a number of standout performers on handicap, with Julia Wolstenholme topping the Standard and Modified Sports and Saloon Cars Class 1 driving a Austin EA Sports and Andrew Baker the best in Class 2 driving a Riley Brooklands.


Richard White came out on top in Class 3 in his Wolseley Hornet and elsewhere in Class 6, John Guyatt secured the best handicap time in a Talbot Lago T150C.


Class 7 Edwardians was topped by Ian Balmforth driving a Hudson Super Six Racer and Class 8 Special Sports and Saloon Cars saw Ian Muir perform the best in a Riley Brooklands Replica.


Barbara Lerigo claimed first place in Class 9 in a Riley Special and in Class 10, Jack Bond was the best performer in his Alvis Silver Eagle Sports.


Class 13 for the Pre 1941 Racing Cars was topped by Chris Aspin in a Austin Seven Ulster Rep and Richard Archbell came first in Class 15 for Racing Cars 1501 to 3000cc driving a GN AC Rabelro.


Finally, the Invited class saw Alex Simpson perform the best on handicap in a Alvis Goodwin Special.
