On Sunday we really got away with it! The rain kindly held off for us until after the racing had finished. Day two of the Bugatti Owners Club and All Comers Handicap classes brought a lot of entertainment; Jake Wheeler taking the top award in his Mini Cooper S in the Saloon’s while Stuart Hook in his Westfield Seiw took a win in the Sports car class later in the day. The impressive Jedi Mk4 of Christopher Guy produced a fine first place in the Race class.

The ever growing Bugatti Owners’ Club New Barn RS Interclub Speed Championship attracted a strong entry this year with a great mix of cars. Victory went to John Brunner in his Mazda MX5 ahead of Mike Brakes in his Ford Fiesta ST150. This is the perfect championship for taking your road going car to the hill! The 500s stayed overnight to have another punchy try at the hill with Richard Robarts, in his Cooper Mark 11, taking the class win on day two. The Ferrari Hillclimb Championship also stayed for a second day having their final round. The Ferrari 458 Speciale of Rob Samuels took the win yet again.

This year we hosted a good turnout from the Allard Owners Club with Tony Bianchi in his awesome Allard Farrellac Mk2, finishing a whole 6 seconds ahead of second place Mark Butterworth in his Allard K3.

The MSCC Techniques Speed Championship featured Morgan sports cars dating from the 1930s to the current era. A very close battle took place for first and second with the 3.9 litre Morgan Roadster of Simon Baines finally taking the win. Paul Clarke took second place in his Lightweight 3 litre Roadster.

The TR Register Triumph Speed Championship also had a strong entry. Success went to the Triumph TR7 V8 of Larry Jeram Croft. Neil Revington was two seconds behind in his Beta while Richard Wiseman in a Type 35 took the win for the final class of the day, the Bugatti Williams Monaco Trophy.

Fastest time of the day, was set by Martin Watts in his Sylva Riot with a time of 45.20s.

Thank you everyone who supported a superb weekend. Look out for our next event (that’s right, the seasons not over yet!) Rallye Prescott on Saturday 2nd November 2024, well known for Rally cars competing in both daylight and darkness… don’t miss out!
