BOC Members holding an Motorsport UK Speed Licence have been invited to form a team of eight drivers to contest the Rob Roy/Prescott Brake Shoes Challenge to be held at the Rob Roy Hill Climb, located North West of Melbourne, Australia some time in February/March 2025.(date to be confirmed)
Cars will be provided by the hosts, MGCC (Victoria) and are yet to be confirmed, but should be identical so that there is a “level playing field”.
Competitors will need to apply for an Australian Speed Licence, and take their own overalls, helmet & gloves.
Participants (and partners if applicable) will be expected to arrange and pay for their own flights and accommodation.
The provisional format will be communicated to participants well in advance. Advice will be available from previous team members regarding preparations and contact details at the appropriate time.
The hosts will invite UK team members and partners to the excellent MG Clubhouse the evening before the event when introductions will take place and a buffet meal will be provided, and after the Rob Roy event, there will be a prize giving ceremony when we anticipate a traditional Aussie barbeque will be arranged.
Having won the Challenge at Prescott in 2023, we are very keen to retain the trophy at the “away” fixture.
The event will take place the week-end before the Melbourne Grand Prix, so there will be an opportunity to obtain tickets to the event.
