Around 2,000 spectators turned out to enjoy a celebration of motorsport heritage. Despite the grey skies and the threat of rain, the atmosphere was upbeat, offering an exciting mix of competitive action and impressive demonstration runs.
Visitors were treated to several special events throughout the weekend. A thrilling Lancaster flyover from the BBMF excited everyone on Saturday afternoon, as well as a Triumph parade, featuring 24 of the classic cars. One of the most talked-about parts of the weekend was the World’s Fastest Shed, driven by Kevin Nicks, a fun highlight for many. There were also demonstration runs on Sunday, including Steven Dickens in a Clubman car, and Rupert Marks gave a demonstration in the Chaparral 2, showcasing a piece of racing history.
Some remarkable cars were also on display, including a thundering STP Pontiac NASCAR and a classic McLaren M10B, both of which attracted plenty of admiration from spectators.
A wide variety of marques took part in the event, showcasing the depth of historic and classic motorsport. Notable names included Lotus, Austin, Cooper, Bugatti, Mallock, MG, and Alfa Romeo. The car club presence was just as strong, with appearances from the Bugatti/Williams Monaco Trophy Cars—featuring 12 Bugattis—alongside groups such as the Paul Matty Lotus Championship, Healeysport Speed Championship, Bugatti Owners Club Fassi Classic Speed Championship, Allard Owners Club, 500 Owners Club, and the TR Register Triumph Speed Championship.
Among the weekend’s competitive highlights was the Allard Owners Club timed runs. Mark Brett claimed the top spot in his Ballamy with a time of 56.82 seconds. He was followed by Jon Langley in an Allard K1, clocking 59.64 seconds, and James Smith in an Allard J1 with a time of 63.22 seconds.
